to show off the amazing package that I got from Jennifer last night. It was leaned up against my front door and I could see it winking at me through the glass door as I walked up the steps to the porch. I instantly knew what it was. Seeing the customs form adhered to the front only confirmed it.

But not just any chocolate…. chocolate from Canada!

Oh how I love having international friends!

Jennifer saw my post on Canadian candies last month and we emailed back and forth about how we love sampling candy from other countries, how that is such a big part of being a tourist. We instantly agreed to be candy swap pals. Chocolate was our first choice of items to swap.

I opened my box with the giddiness of the proverbial kid in a candy store. Flake! Aerobar! Smarties!Cadbury! Lindt! Then I saw it… the Kinder Egg Surprise! Often blogged about on Mariko’s blog, they had always eluded me. But Jennifer found one and included it. It was the first piece I tried. (Mariko- I got the little turtle with paints under his shell!) I also got four little chocolate cream tarts!! Those are next on the sampling block.

Included with the candy goodness was a bag of coffee to drink while sampling my chocolate (I think I’m going to try my hand at homemade Cafe Mocha with some of the dark chocolate pastilles that she packed in my box). She also listed all the candies and why I got what I did.

Everything she sent me is exclusive to Canada or Europe. I didn’t get anything that is readily available in regular US shops. Amazing!

Thank you so much, Jen… I’ll be savoring all the chocolate goodness for at least a week 😉

Tomorrow I’ll be back with the rest of my Seattle posts.

You are certainly welcome, Stella! I am so glad you liked it so much. I don’t know how you have such reserve though…I think it will be rather difficult for me to wait long enough to snap a picture before I tear into one of my treats…I am anxiously awaiting my package — which I am sure will be wonderful!

Wow! That’s some package! My teeth hurt just from looking at all that candy. Yum! You can make my banana, pecan, white chocolate phyllo shells with the bar of Dream. Those Flakes are great too!

oooh I found some of those eggs when I was in Belgium…I have a thank you note from Rosie O’Donnell in my Europe scrapbook bc I carried several home for her and mailed them off (it was when she was on this kick on her show about Nestle taking these candies she loved off the shelves…the candy had toys in the centers and they were choking hazards…)
    mmmm…Belgian chocolate…. mmmm
