In September, my friend Summer won a contest at work that rewarded her with $500 to spend on a luxury experience. A life-long equestrian enthusiast, she decided to take a few jumping lessons at a school in Scottsdale. Because one of the terms of the prize required a presentation on how the money was spent, she asked me to come take pictures of her experience. I quickly agreed! Here are a few highlights of the day.
In other news, a winner has been randomly selected for the Blake Mycoskie book giveaway. Congratulations to Cindy A from HellcatVintage! She’s paying it forward by volunteering at her local thrift shop that donates prom and wedding dresses to those who cannot afford them. Awesome! Cindy, check your email for instructions on how to receive your book!
It’s no secret that I love my TOMS shoes. They are the first pair of shoes that I put on after I got out of the walking boot in September and I’ve worn them pretty much every day since. It’s safe to say that it’s time for a new pair.
So when I heard about the new line of ballet flats TOMS was about to unveil, I was superpsyched!
They range in price from $74-$84 and come in a variety of patterns and colors, as well as a really nice black leather style. Plus they are all part of the “one-for-one” program that TOMS is most famous for.
To celebrate the new line of TOMS shoes, I’m giving away a copy of Blake Mycoskie’s book, Start Something that Matters that they sent to me to share with you.
All you have to do is leave a comment with how you plan to “pay it forward” in 2012. That could mean volunteer time, recycling more, charitable donations, or whatever YOU think is a best way to pay it forward within your community.
Leave a comment by Saturday, February 4th. I’ll pick a random comment using the WordPress Contest Generator widget that I’ve been wanting to try out! Winner must have a valid email address to be contacted.
Please note: This giveaway is only for the Start Something that Matters hardcover book. You’re on your own for the ballet flats.
