Sam

This is a sweater that I knit twice.

The first time it was too big.

The second time it was too small.

Not being a big fan of Goldilocks, I decided against ripping and re-knitting and instead, I gave it to Sam.

I always imagined it to be a good layering piece. I used Checkheaton Gusto, which is super-chunky. I wanted the sweater to be worn in place of a coat, kind of like those down vests.

For some reason, on me, the cable just did not look right. The sweater was too short for my torso and it did not make me happy.

Knitting should make you happy.

Look how happy Sam looks in her new sweater.

I think I made a good decision.

That sweater is really cute – I have a similar chunky cabled vest in my knitting queue! Looking forward to putting together a “neutral” package for you in honor of the final month of Project Colorswap!

The sweater looks perfect on its recipient! I just have to ask – is that an Irish Wolfhound?

I had to read this entry a couple of times to make sure Sam wasn’t the dog! It’s a great-looking sweater vest. I’m glad Sam is a person. Now maybe you need to make something for the dog. 🙂

I am looking for a blogger who lives in the Bay Area; just got married, free lance writes, owns a condo and went to Mills. I lost her blog and it was wicked entertaining…so I am wandering the blogearth, hoping someone knows who I’m talking about. She has a red toaster, too, I think. (Wedding gift.) Honeymooned in Vancouver.
    Thanks
