Sunday night we all went to Del Frisco’s on 6th Ave. and 49th St., a short walk from our hotel. The building was amazing. Thirty foot floor to ceiling windows looking out onto 7th Avenue. I reserved the Newsroom for our group of 30 people. Peter and RJ were our servers and paid special attention to the needs of our group. We plowed through a case and a half of 3 different wines and indulged on appetisers such as fried oysters, shrimp with 3 sauces and crabcakes. Most ordered steak dinners, but a few picked the Chilean Sea Bass and Osso Bucco as a change up. I ordered an 8oz filet and barely made a dent in it. The side dishes came family style and each table chose 3 or 4 to compliment their table’s dinners. Our table ordered the sauteed mushrooms, onion rings, asparagus, skillet potatoes and potatoes au gratin. Despite not being able to finish my filet, I certainly had room for dessert. I wanted to try everything, but decided on the
Chocolate Souffle with vanilla ice cream. A crispy envelope filled with rich dark chocolate mousse. It was heaven. I also tasted someone else’s 5 layer lemon cake. Amazing.
Here is a bit more information about DelFrisco’s Steak Houses and the conception of the NYC location.
